How to select the best punching bag

How to select the best punching bag

Punching bags are an essential part of your martial arts training; whether its for boxing or MMA. However there are so many different types of bags out there that it could be difficult to know which ones to select. At Mani Sports we have a vast range of bags to choose from, consisting of different styles and weights. Whilst selection could be difficult we are here to help and guide you through to make the best decision
Firstly lets us classify the bag designs that we have to offer and then we will help you decide the bags you require.

Bag designs:

Standard Punching Bags:

As shown in the picture above the shape is almost cylindrical. These bags are generally manufactured with great quality vinyl so that they stay intact and be resistant towards the strongest of hits. These bags need to be hung from either the ceiling, wall brackets or bag stands. The bags have an inner foam lining so that it is softer on the hand as it absorbs the force from the impact..

At Mani Sports we offer the Standard Punching Bags in nearly 11 unique designs. We offer the bag in the following sizes:

  1. 3 ft
  2. 4 ft
  3. 5 ft
  4. 6 ft

The 3 ft bag is great for boxing training and cardio exercises. Due to the small size it is not as heavy and can be placed and installed with ease. If you are just starting to learn how to box, the 3 ft bag is recommended.

The benefit of the 4 ft boxing bag is that you are able practice your kicks on the bag. Due to the greater length of the bag it naturally becomes a heavier bag which is more effective for stronger training.

The 4 ft bag is also available in a heavier version. The great thing about the heavier bag is that you are able to train harder.

These bags are also available in 5 ft and 6 ft. The longer lengths of the bags are useful for practicing lower kicks as well as upper kicks. The addition in the size does also result in an increase in the mass of the bag. The greater mass is great for more intense training.

In conclusion the smaller 3 ft and 4 ft bags are great for boxing training as well as cardio workouts. On the other hand the heavier bags and the longer bags are great for training in kickboxing as well as other related workouts.

Uppercut Bags:

As shown in the picture above the shape of the bag is different to the standard bag. The reason for that is so that the user may be able to practice more moves effectively. These shaped bags are generally great for punching and kicking as well as cardio exercises. By using this bag you can work on your uppercuts, hooks, jabs as well as cross punches. This bag can also be used to practice your kicking skills.

This bag has all the perks that can be enjoyed from a standard 4 ft bag. The bag comes with extra perks such as being able to practice uppercut punches. The great design of this bag allows you to practice advanced boxing skills as well as some basic kickboxing skills.

The approximate weight of the bag is about 42-45 Kg.

This bag can be easily installed using a wall bracket and stands. Grab your Mani combination uppercut bag here.

Wrecking Ball Bag:

This kind of bag is the greatest option if you just want to master your power hits. Due to the strange shape of the bag, the bag develops a bit of mass which in turn is a great option if you want to make your punches stronger.
